Equality Boosts Economy

When I turned from overweight couch potato to cyclist back in 2013, I received a lot of unsportsmanlike and amused comments with regard to my shoes and bike... "Sure! With this outfit and equipment you will climb the Ardennes, huh?!" I climbed them all and very much more...

BTW: Today, I do have all that cool and fancy stuff plus a number one race bike.

Today, I wore THESE shoes once more in memory of my early beginnings. I finished the Race am Rhein on mountain bike, on largest chain ring, at the utmost limit to the required minimum average speed of approx. 20 miles an hour as final one among 2.000 race bikers to cross the finish line.

Why?

I wanted to get once more challenged by the mental purgatory right in front of the broom-waggon. But more importantly, I wanted to make myself aware of what it's like to have that vibrant hunger for progress, growth, success when you are not blessed with living at the upper edge of society like I certainly do, but at the very bottom line of society with little and simple things to call your own - like millions of people do have to across the globe - every day.

Like the many I met in extreme poor regions in India and infront of my own home door - every day.

In equality, I could have finished the race today much earlier, elegantly and easier. However, I am glad I made it this way, to reflect about how and why I follow my inner calling and pursuit so relentlessly: The unlocked economic potential of a society based on equality is vast. Equality is the lever to high culture, growth and sustainability.

Warm regards, Ute For ONE WORLD ✔️ ONE HOME ✔️ ONE FUTURE ✔️ @Jason Uppal: Have a look at your wristband from that boy. This is why we are doing it. I am glad to have found such strong supporter in you, too.
